I was in Vienna recently and there are quite a number of militraia shops there. Hopefully the following will prove useful.
Most shops tend to specialise in Imperial Austria and Third Reich.

On the Graben in the first district beside a toy store there is a coin shop that also sells medals from Eastern Europe and the Balkans. They mostly sell their medals by auction.

At the end of the Graben in a small lane to the left there is a nice shop. The owner is a young guy who knows his stuff. Apparently a lot of families are holding on to decorations and there is not the same tendency to off load to medal shops as there used to be. His father used to run a shop in nearby Herrengasse which specialised in USSR militaria.

Close to the Dorotheum, the city’s main auction house there is a dealer who specialises in Imperial austrian and Third Reich. He has a vast collection, but given his location is considered pricey.
Across from the opera on the ring there is a dealer who specialises mostly in Imperial Austria.
In the Opera Pasage in front of the opera underground there is a kiosk with a few medals but silly tourist prices.
There is a small medal shop beside the opera house, beside Cafe Tiroler Hof and the guy specialises in Austrian civilain decorations and rare imperial orders.
Outside the first district there are any number of antique and junk shops, which are soemwhat hit an miss.
There is a nice army shop on Lerchenfelder Strasse in the seventh district. He has a lot of helmets and uniforms from different armies over the past forty years as well as DDR . He is good value. Further up the street, close to the Gürtel there is a well stocked military book shop which has a lot of books on the Thrid Reich in English.
There is a dealer in the Burgasse (7th district) who has a vast collection of Third Reich. He is however a little strange and I have been told that he has been seling fakes.
There used to be a wells tocked shop in nussdorfer strase in teh 9th, but the owner has since passed. I would love to know what thez did with the stock.

The military history museum also has a shop. But is not great for collectors.
A few bits and pieces can be picked up at the flea market at the Naschmarkt every Saturday. Get there before 1pm.
