I was eating a dark choc minty toffee yesterday when the chef of the house asked me to try the dhal they were making and passed me a spoon of it. Fown the hatch it went -in with the toffee. Strangely nice!!!

I second koka noodle sandwiches especially tomato flavour (which I haven't seen in years)

Just remembered another one of my favourites! :D

You get a packet of chicken flavour instant noodles, and while it's in the packet mash it up to tiny bits without it opening, you then pour it into a mug.

Then you take a chicken cup-a-soup and pour that and the flavourings from the noodles into the cup on top of it all.

Then add just enough water to soften the noodles but leave the cup-a-soup a gooey mess! tastes so good and chickeny when your starving!!

any other weird food combinations that shouldn’t go together but taste great?

Back in the day, you would be thrown into the mental house for that kind of thing. Not now though, you and people like you are labelled as "eccentric" and "quirky" that way

Was actully invented in Scotland. Had one a couple of years ago in Sligo, not sure if my body has recovered enough from the sudden surge in cholesterol to sample another one yet.

It was kinda tasty but had to drink a litre of water afterwards to try and flush it through.

    :D

    For me,

    Bolognase toasted sambos.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,194 ✭✭✭saa

There is nothing strange about crisp sambos.

Chips and potato waffles also suffice.

Banana doesn't go down too badly but that is strange.

I love having a bit of toast with my pasta and sauce but alas enough of my carb fetish :(

I'm partial to a white bread sandwich filled with fish fingers, a fried egg and beans. Go on, try it.
