    Hey Guys,

We've been with Eircom since the days of Dialup and I've finally convinced the mother to change to UPC. But how long would it take to change from the Eircom package to the UPC one?

As there is no changeover of broadband involved in the way there would be between two DSL suppliers (say if you were changing to Vodafone for example) it really is up to yourself as to when you cancel your Eircom package.

Would this be the same when it comes to phone also?

    Yep,that's what we did!

UPC run on a completely different system to Eircom,we waited til we had our UPC broadband up and running before we cancelled Eircom, just to make sure we weren't left without any broadband in case things didn't run smoothly.

Remember that you will have to give Eircom a months notice.

And you must port your number before you give the months notice if you wish to keep that number on UPC.
