A character needs an exuberant amount of money to pay off a blackmailer or something even more outlandish and there's always a friend who has it and there's never a mention of it being given back.

Girls raising one leg in movies.tv when they get kissed....who does that??????

I think originally the censors didn't want kisses to be too 'passionate', and one of the rules is that the woman always had to have one foot on the ground.

How come nobody in sitcoms ever laugh at something funny? like every scene in Friends where Chandler might make a funny, no one else laughs.

Surely that is the character reacting exactly how a person in real life would to something Chandler says.

In the film Gladiator, Russel Crowes character Maximus is pitted against many soldiers on scythe chariots in the arena. However scythes were not attatched to the chariot until the times of Alexander the great which came after the ancient Roman period!

They didn't have gas cylinders on them either;)

I was just thinking about this yesterday watching 2 broke girls. The two leads seem to always be kind of laughing at the funny things the other says. I think its refreshing seeing as in real life thats how you react when your friend says something funny.

5 guys surround the hero but only one goes for them at a time.

Exception : one of them pins the hero's arms back enough for the hero to get enough leverage to kick a bad guy in the chest........while the other 3 wait their turn to join in.

Watch enough movies and you could be forgiven for assuming that -

    - Every hotel room in Paris has a view of the Eiffel Tower.

    - Everyone living in London drives over Tower Bridge everyday to get to work.

    - If wou whistle in New York and shout 'Taxi', a yellow cab will appear in less than 2 seconds.

    - There are no Black or Aisian people living in Dublin.

    - There are no ugly people in L.A.

    - Every city, town and village in Italy has church bells ringing all the time.

Like in South park where Kenny dies and is alive in the next episode.

Actually in South Park they explain why Kenny can't die.

This is like the Webb thingy on BBC3
Some of his examples were very nit picky - I'm sure you'd all approve!

When someone kills another person nearby and no blood appears on the killer e.g. in Scanners Michael Ironside explodes a guy's head who's sitting beside him yet no blood lands on his suit?

Sound doesn't carry in space! Pet hate of mine.

I think it would add to a sci-fi space flic if it adhered to the reality....A silent explosion would definitely be more dramatic in my opinion.

That's what I loved about Firefly - any sequences that showed the ship were pretty much silent.

Computer viruses cause what's on screen to visually disintegrate and complex code runs line-by-line in real time as they type it.

One thing that really gets me is reaction shots in interviews / documentaries. I watch news / documentary programming and want it to be entirely authentic - It really gets to me when I see changing camera angles and pointless cutaways of people pretending to look interested, amused, surprised or simply nodding.

One of the reasons why I enjoy Louis Theroux's stuff

i always thought it was funny in the first episode of chuck when sarah tries to rob his computer and she ends up dropping it, and when chuck and morgan are examing it (remember they work in the nerd herd now) even though the hard drive is intact its useless, loved the show, but that really bugged me at the time,

Are you saying you've never had a telephone conversation with yourself whilst the chief of police listened in and a seal made arfing noises in the background?

I know. I was using that as an example to show another poster (who pointed out a simpsons mistake) that continuity rules don't really apply to animation

When men are chatting to each other in the toilets they'll be always at the urinals and not sitting on the toilets.

A hard drive might look physically intact but internally the platters which are mounted one above the other might be non-aligned, off balance and additionally the arms which extends over each one and the laser head which reads each individually, might also have damaged the internal platters by crashing into each one individually.

The only way that it might have been saved is to open it up in a very dust free environment, take each individual platter out and using a specialised machine for this very task then try reading it - providing it wasn't damaged enough already...

somehow i dont think holding it in your hand like chuck and morgan did would indicate if it was beyond repair,
it was simply dropped just like ive done with one or two of my drives,

Certainly simply looking at the casing as they did in the show, would not in any way indicate (for a vast majority of the time - unless it was in absolute pieces) if it was working or not, that part certainly is inaccurate and you have a valid point.

(As for you dropping your own - Goodness! Your very lucky!) :D

Whenever they make an anti-racist movie the blacks/indians/asians are all better looking than the white characters!

If it says at the start of the movie 'Based on a true story' they'll always get it wrong!

When somebody calls somebody else, they answer straight away. Like fairly immediately. All the time! Very annoying. Just let it ring a few times!

Also, I hate it when characters play with food. As in, they sit down for dinner and they somehow manage to never put food into their mouth in a 5 minute scene. Just never actually eating when they are scripted to be having a meal or food of some sort. Bugs me so much.
