Get plugged in and see if any improvement!

Also, how far is your nearest cab?

Give it a day or two to settle. My upload sync rate went up to 20Mbps from 10, (though I've not seen it yet on speedtests I'm hoping to see it maybe tomorrow) on the line stats there today. The attainable stats are through the roof for some reason :D The system seems to need a while to set up.

Especially the revelation that I heard today that if you are 1Km from a cabinet you will never get fibre.

Anything out near Johnstown Castle won't get FTTC until 2050.

I know! Ive dedicated the past 20 years of my life to broadband type stuff and helping people out where I can - I was here with a few others when the hot topic was FRIACO....and I cant get NGA until 2014......something wrong with the world!

Mind you I do get a constant 15Mbps on ADSL so does me for now :)

And they dreaded dial up noise and the even more dreaded bill that would be enough to bail out Anglo.

I just want to get it soon so my test shows I'm better than 90% of Ireland, or rather my internet is. :)

Could someone do some ping tests to sip.blueface.ie

I'm just curious how it will perform on either eFibre or Vodafone Fibre

You know when I think back to dial up days, I think I was happier then with Dial up than I am now with my "NGB upto 8MB" Broadband.... which is really 1.7 meg.

I never tried to work from home on dial up however!

I'm chatting to an Eircom Support guy about getting the ping down at a later date, he can't promise anything but I'll be sure to get back to this thread if we get it sorted.

On a different note, uploading to Youtube is a damn sight more convenient now at least : http://imgur.com/rf8z0Ma
