    I couldn't give a flying about Jedward.

But the one thing is though they're very good
to kids. My little niece, who had cancer, is always made
    welcome by them.

    They're GOOD LADS.

You really can't help liking them though.

You can. Just think of actual good artists and it's easy.

I just hope Ireland get more points at Euro 2012 than we do at the Eurovision cos I see Jedward getting zero.

Harry, What movie have you got for us this evening?

Forget Paris, MrsD. Billy Crystal - good. Debra Winger - bad. Felicia's Journey is on BBC 2. A bit downbeat but watchable.

tell you what the jedwards really generate comments. the eurovision song contest feed on facebook got very busy.

Jedward best of a very bad bad lot. All songs were terrible but at least they are entertainers.

Nah, Mrs D. If it was a Michael O'Leary production it would be called "Forget Beauvais". And that would be truly forgettable! ;):D

Like they did last year when they were relatively unknown in Europe and didn't have the same continental fanbase they do now?

I get there's people don't like them. Fair enough. But I don't get where these "Nul points" comments are coming from when, last year, they became the most successful Irish Eurovision act in over ten years

Meg Ryan, Debra Winger, they're all the same ;-)

You weren't too far out Harry. Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline appeared in the film "French Kiss" which was also set in Paris.

I think the lads are great,
They have a great attitude, dont drink, smoke or do drugs.. they are polite and excellent role models for kids in lots of ways...

And I'm sure Eurovision is gonna be one hell of a laugh again this year.. Can you imagine how dull it would have been if we sent that poor woman that was trapped in the fire..

I'm not a huge fan of Jedward but I could'nt agree with you more. My respect to their parents. They have obviously been reared to respect other people. This comes across very subtly, even tonight, when jumping down the four steps one of the Jedwards immediately held his hand back to guide Linda down the steps. Best of luck to them.

Those Jury votes were all over the place ... usually they are reasonably close.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,013 ✭✭✭aramush

Lads in fairness Jedward are just made for eurovision, that cheesy camp look, those Eurovision followers just love that. They went down a hit last year so who knows?

It's the only 'act' we had on offer tonight that has any hope of doing well for Ireland and good luck to them.

I have a feeling that one or two of the juries decided to be bolshy for the sake of being bolshy and decided not to give Jedward the maximum points to make themselves look "credible", even though Jedward were the best by a long way.

Denmarks entry sounds suspiciously similar to a chillout/dance track from the 90s. Can't think of the name right now.

Yeah I have to say, even though I can understand how people might find them annoying, they're so innocent really and all I know is that if I had kids, I'd be much happier for them to listen/watch Jedward than follow the likes of Rihanna which quite frankly may as well be soft porn half the time.

Fair play to them, there's an awful lot worse going on in this country.

I'm glad Jedward are going to Eurovision. At least they're a bit of craic. Sure, they have the combined musical talent of a shoe, but they were still more bearable than any of the other acts on show.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,585 ✭✭✭lynski

my 5 yr old son loves them, cant see him learning waterline tho it is not as catchy as lipstick.
BTW told my other half that DLB chastised Martin Sheen for expressing his opinion (after asking him for it) and he is disgusted.

There's something about Jedward ... I remember watching this Press Conference at last year's Eurovision ... It had been 20 minutes of dull polite platitudes until Edward and John came on. They were only meant to answer one question. Those little dudes rock :):):):):)

Ok, so the bins are out! :D But, ran into drunken neighbour on way in and heard all about the 'savage game of darts, f'ing savage' they had tonight!

So, the sleep is gone off me - got 3 dvds in Xtravision few months back, 3 for a tenner job - watched one already... 2 left - Donnie Darko and The Other Man (Liam Neeson, Antonio Banderas) - recommendations for either?:D

There's probably something better in your bin, Twirly.
