Anything new in the past week on Netflix Ireland, Canada, US, Netherlands, France Germany, Italy or Australia that really stands out?

    Lilting

A very interesting, sad and funny drama about a elderly woman living in a nursing home recalling her son's life after his death.

Up on the Irish Netflix btw.

Rewatched Hinterland the past couple of nights on Irish Netflix, still very good, could have been better, just think they made the lead a bit too mean and moody. Need a bit of light with the darkness and there's not much of that in Hinterland.

I know a few of you poo poo'd "Once Upon a Time" but I think it's really good. I like to have a series to follow with the Kids so for an hour before bedtime we can watch it together. This one is perfect, they love it and so do I. I'd highly recommend. :)

Edit: not recommended for the very young kids though, mine are 9 and 12 so it's grand for them.

My wife and daughter are thoroughly enjoying it.

The biggest problem with young kids watching it is that you're constantly bloody asked "Who's that, and who's that, and why are they doing that".

Canada has some great films at the moment. I thought Whiplash was superb, not too dissimilar to Birdman in terms of sheer intensity.

Boyhood is strangely enjoyable. Fantastic concept and even though it could be accused of it being a film about nothing it keeps you engaged.

This is probably the problem I have with OUAT, it's not supposed to be a kids show. It airs at like 8 or 9 pm in the US, it's a prime time show and yet it seems to be aimed at children. I wouldn't even say it's a "young adult" show like CW shows of old, it seems to be literally aimed at kids. When RTÉ aired it they had it on a Saturday afternoon which is really family/kid time and that's fine, they can obviously see it for what it is.

It is a perfectly fine show to sit and watch with your kids before bed but in terms of traditional Netflix binge watching on your own it's just not a good show. In my opinion :D

Yes and I'd agree with that, I'd never watch it by myself. By myself I'm currently binging on 3 series, Blacklist, Boston Legal (extremely funny) and Criminal Minds. :D

Sorry Eamo, I assumed it was on Netflix, such a great show. I watch it on XBMC. Why isn't it on Netflix, that's what I'd want to know.

The relationship between Denny and Alan Shore is just fantastic.

Apparently, Netflix have rejigged their systems so services like Maft can't predict what's going to taken off anymore.

Its a movie, not a series, and thats a scene from it.

Its one of the most memorable scenes in the film. Carrell got an oscar nomination for the film and Ruffalo and Thor/(Chris Hemsworth were both very good in it.

I'd advise you not to read to much up on the story of Du Pont, because it will ruin a lot of the film.

he film's plot is loosely based on the events surrounding multimillionaire E.I. du Pont family heir and wrestling enthusiast John E. du Pont's 1986 recruitment of 1984 U.S. Olympic gold medalist wrestlers Mark Schultz and his older brother Dave to help coach U.S. wrestlers for participation in national, world, and Olympic competition

The Burning Plain. 2008 is on the American Netflix.

Charlize Theron, Kim Basinger and Jennifer Lawrence stars in this drama about two cross-border stories that are very alike.

    A solid 7.

I watched "The Invisible War" recently. Harrowing viewing, the story of rape in the US military. The accounts given by the women made for tough viewing, I can't imagine what it must be like to be denied some sense of justice so coldly. The documentary doesn't seem to have received much attention, i had read a review of it a few months ago and had been meaning to see it if possible.

I find it frustrating that under Netflix's "Because you watched The Invisible War" the suggestions for similar material are "Aroused" and "After Porn Ends" among others. There is a separate category for "the Act of Killing" and the like. The Invisible War gets lumped in with the cheap "sexy" ones.

Beware of Mr Baker is leaving Netflix here in Ireland tonight but its available in many other regions. Just watched it Friday night. He was the drummer for Cream and Blind Faith back in the 60s .The guy has one hell of a temper, smashed his walking stick across the interviewees face breaking his nose because he wasn't too keen on his children or ex wife's being interviewed for the documentary ............... none of them can stand him lol. Best Doc I've seen now since All This Mayhem highly recommend ! :D

Edit: These are some more titles supposedly coming soon. Looking forward to seeing A Walk Among The Tombstones missed it in the cinema.
