I found Archer funny at first but that it became pretty predictable and unimaginative after a while. Definitely worth a watch though.

Tron:Uprising is on the US one now, fantastic animated show, great soundtrack, looks gorgeous, has depth, good storylines, can't recommend it enough.

Brilliant voice cast too, Elijah Wood, Bruce Boxleitner, Lance Henriksen, Trici Helfer, Paul Ruebens, Donald Faison, Aaron Paul and others.

I cannot recommend Example Short 23.976 IV enough. Remarkable, evolutionary filmmaking that makes us reevaluate our relationship with the images on screen. Actress is excellent as always, but Actor is the real surprise, going outside his comfort zone to provide a devastatingly raw performance. On a literal level the narrative is a comforting blend of familiar and unexpected, but its the obvious meta textual themes that resonate strongest. In the end, it's the absence of the .24 that will linger.

On a lighter note, series 3 of amusing hipster deconstruction Portlandia has been added to the Irish selection. The show's mileage will vary depending on how many of the cameos you'll spot, but there's some damn good sketches, including the inspired Battlestar Galactica offering from season two.

The strange but stylish Cafe de Flore is already there - a visual feast if nothing else. And also the IMO unfairly maligned Magic Mike - more sardonic and cynical than its subject matter suggests, backed by Soderbergh's typically coldly slick direction.

A tonne of classic Disney animated films on the irish one now. Watching Robin Hood at the moment for a bit of nostalgia.

I see Searching for Suger Man has been added to the Canadian one too, heard good things about it.

Absolutely brilliant, the kind of crazy story that couldn't happen post the invention of the internet.

Disturbing Behaviour starring James Marsden is an excellent film. Reminded me of The Faculty, which is a fantasic sci-fi popcorn movie.

Also, I'm enjoying the old Twilight Zone series on US Netflix. Good old fashioned story telling.

Looking for some good music films on irish netflix. The last waltz was great. Anybody any other recomendations?
They should have it as a category.

I watched the last waltz a few times its great. You have to search for it. There is no category for music documentaries or films. Is there anywhere I can get list of these, or hasanyone any recomendations?

"Last Days Here" and "Echotone" on US Flix are great, "Searching For Sugarman" on Canada one is brilliant, the US one has about 20 of the really good "Classic Albums" series about the making of albums by Nirvana, Primal Scream, Metallica, The Band (from The Last Waltz) amongst others , there are a good few concerts as well and some other music docs that I can't remember at the moment.

Watched Searching for Suger Man earlier today on the canadian site. Really brilliant film and an amazing story, would recommend watching it knowing as little as possible. Will be buying the music when I get the chance too :)

Yeah, I didn't read anything about the guy at all, it has so much more impact if you don't know any of the back story.

    Yeah I was the same.
I was genuinely shocked when they revealed he's alive and well.

I hated the way the opening half hour or so of Waiting for Sugarman was filmed. It was full of all these pointless, flashy camera tricks and effects that only distracted from the story being told. Plus, the endless array of talking heads wasn't exactly great documentary filmmaking. I assumed I was going to leave annoyed.

But the rest of it, well I was thoroughly engrossed in a fascinating tale about an improbably charming individual. There's some tremendous emotional peaks throughout the film.

The first three seasons of Buffy The Vampire Slayer have now been added to Irish Netflix. This show is head and shoulders above most TV fiction, IMHO. Joss Whedon's trademark witticisms and penchant for using mythology as a canvas for human interest storytelling don't do it any harm. It really hits its stride in the second season, and the third is a masterclass in how to do a seasonal story arc.
