What's the best gym in Kilkenny for someone who's never used a gym before? I'm more interested in the calibre of the trainers than how fancy the equipment is. I've no idea how to use any exercise equipment :o

Newpark is a lovely gym / pool and if you;re just getting started it's got everything you need but the trainers are not winning any customer service awards. They;re dead sound and all that but there seems to be a meh vibe about the trainer thing. Thought it was just my experience but heard it back off others since. Overall a nice place though

'Ive been a member of Hotel KK & Newpark, both are nice gyms but neither will set the world on fire when it comes to personal training. There are people who specialise in personal training and it might be worth a session with someone to explain the basics... Maybe someone on here would be willing to give you some free advice...

I'm not sure! I've lost nearly two stone since the start of the year, and want to lose about another three. I read in a magazine that if I don't go to a gym whilst losing a lot of weight then I'll get really saggy skin. I haven't a clue what I'm supposed to do in the gym though!

Ask on the health and fitness forum for advice on this. It really doesn't matter imo what gym you go to. It matters more what you do there and what you are eating. You'll find this all out in that forum and not so much on this one.
