Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

iPhone Screen Repaired but not great

I just left my iphone 4s into a shop to be fixed but when I got it back the screen wasn't as I expected. Instead of it being glass from edge to edge there's now a thin plastic edge around the screen that protrudes above the glass at the edge.

The screen doesn't feel as slick to touch either, its more resistant and its tougher to keep clean.

Has anyone got any experience of this?

    Probably a cheap crappy screen.

I'd be going back and asking for my old screen to be put back in and finding a reputable repair shop!

I rang them just before I posted. I'm going down to the shop tomorrow to explain why I'm unhappy. I don't even know if they'll have my old screen though.

The plastic bezel is on all iphone screens.
It shouldn't protrude over the screen though, this is just a sign of a poorly made screen or poorly made bezel.
I'd advise you check out the quality of the screen using th images in this thread http://forums.ilounge.com/ipod-color-photo/127316-ipod-colour-screen-pixel-test.html
And compare it with a friends iphone4 as chances are if feels poor quality then the image is poor quality
A new screen is usually less slick for the 1st day or two
I'd go back to the shop and get a refund or a new better quality screen fitted

    They used a cheap screen.

Demand they refit a correct one. They are circa €25 on Amazon, so no reason to skimp on it.
I fitted one myself and you couldn't tell it from new.

If they refuse to entertain you tell them you will out them on the Internet. These places can't afford bad press on the 'Net as so many people will Google before they approach a shop on the street.

This has gotten worse, now I've realised that since the screen was replaced I've lost pretty much all wifi range. So unless I'm in the same room as the router I can't get onto my home wifi.

Whoever replaced your screen has either left out screws or lost a small metal clip which is needed for wifi
The clip and screw are marked in green one in the pic below
These guys sound like cowboys to me
