In fairness I wouldn't call it hard work. I'm glad they take it seriously and I'd be delighted with the chance to extend the 2 years.... for the petty fee of $150 and some forms to fill.
I think alot of people are a bit prone to losing perspective on the fact that you're getting the chance to go to a vast and majestic country where there are actual jobs. :D

i know what you're saying. the process definitely weeds out the people who aren't really that serious about going and would end up taking a spot on the program that someone else could have had. perhaps they could make the €120 non refundable to weed out these people? i dunno, that's just one possible option. what i'm getting at though, is that this is not typical procedure for a working holiday visa. it's like they're giving us something black and trying to convince us that it's white. basically, from my experiences with working holiday visas, this has been the most complicated BY FAR! i'm not saying that it's not a good opportunity. it is. afterall i am taking part myself, so obviously i am interested in going and will jump through their hoops in order to do so. also, you brought up the fact that there are jobs over there. how many people do you think are going purely for the chance to work? i think there are a lot. therefore, i think it defeats the purpose. it's not so much a working holiday as it is simply a work permit. so my point is, they're not treating the program like it's a working holiday visa and also a lot of people who are applying are not treating it that way either if they're all content on staying in canada permanently after their 2 year visa is up.

when I got my payment verification letter last week, it came about an hour after it said "verified" on my account. Just sit tight man, I'm still waiting for my assessment to be completed icon9.png.

hey eoino. i meant my iec assessment was verified, not the payment. my payment was verified about 9 days ago and i received the verificiation shortly after. so since then i've just sat tight and waited. so i only noticed today that the iec assessment was verified whereas before it said pending. anyway, i probably just have to play the waiting game again. kinda used to it now....:(

Hi, I'm just wondering if anybody knows or has asked IEC about this, I'm probably looking too much into this, but....so in the IMM1295 form they ask you for your current country of residence, then your current mailing address then your residential address... my question, do they want your current residenital address (if so, tick the 'yes' box as its the same as your mailing address) or do they want your irish address? Just want to make sure I got this right!! Thanks!! I'm applying for second IEC btw.

  • Registered Users Posts: 20 MP_Calgary2012

I'm certain its the 5645 family form! Hey so whats the story with uploading the main Imm1295 appl form, ive been trying for a good while to upload a pdf doc to the CIC site....ive printed and checked off everything, everything is filled in (except for the fields where i couldnt but "N/A' in ie: fax number, province/city or town of indended location of work, duration of expected employment, LMO number & caregiver) Has anyone else been experiencing this?

This is what I've been getting.....

no its the 5707 form i have used and many others are the same so i don't know:D

  • Registered Users Posts: 152 ✭✭DodoByrne

As someone stated before, when you fill out the questionnaire at the start where they work out what you need to apply for..... the outcome was the imm5707 for us all.
Also read the part where it says who should fill out the 5707 form... its people over 18 OR under 18 from specific countries listed.
It has to be a no brainer that the 5707 is the form for us!!
Its the one i uploaded and i feel right in doing so.

You didn't note it down because you didn't get one :D
You'll get the number you need after you've submitted all forms to CIC.
So in the imm1295E form, when it asks for a UCI number, leave it blank cus you don't have it yet.
Unless you've applied to CIC and IEC before, then you'll have to use that number.

  • Registered Users Posts: 20 MP_Calgary2012

Oh ok, I just thought, from what I read in the instructions was that anyone whose visas do not match the countries listed had to fill in the additional family infomration form 5645 (its the one i filled out the first time i applied for my IEC visa.......which is the form that asks to to tick what type of visa you need... ie worker, visitor, study....oh well could be wrong i guess, havent submitted cos i cant upload this ridicuolous form!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 152 ✭✭DodoByrne

Well we'll know for sure when those of us who have submitted all our forms.. including the 5707 family form.... we shall know one way or the other.
    Goodluck with yours :)

Hi Beyonkers, this below is taken from the Iriah Canadian Immigration Center facebook. They put it up yesterday I think. Hope it helps.

IEC Stage Two for those living in Canada:

For the Come to Canada Wizard, Immigration Specialists recommend:

    A. enter IRELAND as country as residence

    B. enter No re offer of employment

    C. Will you come to Canada with spouse?: enter No (because it is an unaccompanying program)

The Wizard is not an application--the only purpose is to produce a corresponding checklist to send you the right forms.
The fact that the forms will have different answers will not matter. On the actual forms, tell the whole truth--IE if you are no
    w in Canada say that.
