I'm wondering if anybody who's received their POE letter from MYCIC had their application status updated on the IEC/kompass site yet? Has anyone received their Welcome Letter in their kompass account after getting the work permit letter?

I have my POE letter saying I'm eligible for a work permit but still no updates on the Kompass account, no way to log in either because their server is down. It's starting to bug me as I've had my POE letter for two weeks now and I'm planning on travelling soon.

Doesn't matter. I am now in Canada, received my POE, Kompass account still has not been updated. As long as you get the POE, that is all they are interested in at the border....

Can you explain? All family members has to be on the form, I thought..

There are two family info forms - the 5707 and the other one, both are ok to use and people have received POE's using either of them. So yes for one of the forms you need to put all your siblings and for the other one you don't.

Don't worry just fill out your brothers info and send the form back to them!

In my case I can't continue, unless I submit both forms.. So the form you don't need.. Do you submit that blank?

You need to submit two Family Forms? My post was referring to the two kinds of Family Information Forms - which people have had to supply one of. The Family Information Form is submitted with the Application form, the IEC Acceptance Letter etc.

Are you sure they're both family forms. One should be asking you about your own details and some info on family as well as your previous work experience etc, the other is just about family alone.

To clarify, you need to download the:

IMM5707E: This is your family information form

You also need to download the:

IMM1295E: This one requires general informatio

So download both of them from mycic, fill them out and upload them, then proceed to the next step.

Hey guys, so my girlfriend got her POE this morning after exactly 5 weeks of waiting, we'll be in Canada next week! I was waiting 20 days myself. So it unfortunately can take ridiculously long, its pure luck!

So sit tight if you're waiting a long time, as hard as that can be!

Thank god! I tough everyone waits maximum 20 days and then its LOST because u rarely see someone waiting more than three weeks like me :(

Thank you for sharing ! :)

Hi,Sorry only seeing your message now....I rang again the Wednesday and was told my stuff was gone BUT then last Monday got a missed call followed by an email saying I had left off my brothers occupation on the family form which means it still hadnt gone.Ivedecided that Im not gonna contact Visafirst again until I get an IEC email.Thers no point cos when the stuff does go theres no more that they can tell me...Did you get any news??

Hey! Just thought I'd let you know I rang them myself during the week! after me being told that my stuff had been sent of, They informed me that their 'immigrant specialists' still had all my documents and were assessing them BEFORE they were going to be sent to the IEC to be assessed!! to say i was upset was an understatement!! they've had my documents since the beginning of feb and they still have them now because they're still 'assessing' them!! anyway the long and short of it is i wont have my visa on time and they reckon ill have it by the end of april.........maybe!!!

Wow that is shocking! Theyve had your documents around 6 weeks and havnt bothered to send them off?! Completely appalling that youve paid money to these people for a service that they don't seem at all bothered to provide. Jeez you'd more than likely have gotten the LOI by now if you'd submitted them yourself. If i were you I'd stay on their backs about this. Big Time! best of luck with it :)

I had all these problems with global visas last year.
Nearly lost my mind. Ended up going after them through AIB visa services, The small claims court, the ombudsman and the police in London.
I got it all back but I had to fight like a lunatic for 10 months and it delayed everything for me.
B*******! Don't give them an inch.

On the checklist does it have the two Family Info Forms separately listed? I know that on the end of the 5707 it states that if you are from certain countries that you need to fill out the other Family Info Form instead of the 5707. Strange you would have to give them two Family Info Forms as one is just a longer version of the other, therefore you would think you would just have to send them the longer version form. In saying that, it is just an extra form so even if you do need to send two of them off what harm! :)

Go to a Service Canada office with your passport
They will issue a number to on the spot and mail the official card out to you
Easy wont take more than 15 minutes

Sounds handy enough. Cheers. It also answers my other question of having to find accommodation before applying.

So i shall be calling them again next week to make sure this has happened!! I'm kinda over it now, nothing I can do! I'm leaving in 16 days, but iv placement 1st, so the holiday visa will do me until the other arrives!

39 days waiting with no word from CIC at all. Just been told after emailing the NY office that it is in the queue waiting assessment. Current visa ran out on Friday so now on a visitor visa and can't work.

That's crazy, you couldn't have had your application in any sooner.
I'm in the same boat but have a visa until July, however, I've turned 36 and I'm not convinced they'll honour the application. It's such a horrible waiting game. I hope you'll have good news this week. Fingers crossed.
