they didn't send me an email in regard to the one I sent, they just sent me the usual email they send to ppl that get accepted so my email may not have been the reason for it.

its not as if they wrote back saying thanks for your email ye uv been accepted.

I have a letter from myCIC called "POE Introduction Letter"
My kompass account still says Pending on the last two (Immigration Assessment/Final Decision)

Should I be worried about that?
I'm heading in just under 3 weeks. Sent IEC a message from inside that account, but wondered if people here knew the craic?
To facilitate your arrival in Canada, inform the officer of the reason for your visit (study or work) and present this letter with your passport.

    Surely that letter is enough?
And to think I considered last year's process cumbersome.

Got my POE!! Have until 27 March next year to activate it so im guessing mine was one of the many that was caught up in the tech glitch. Thank you guys so much for figuring this all out, cant wait to get going :D WOOOOOO

Hi guys received a message in myCIC account yesterday saying "Your application to study or work in Canada has been approved." etc etc but I'm wondering what LOI and POE mean? Is what I've received either of these? I realise this is probably a really stupid question :/

LOI is letter of introduction,it's the msg you recieved from cic saying youve been approved and it give you a daye you have to enter canada by.you give it to customs/immigration when you arrive in Canada and they in turn issue you a work permit.im not sure but I think poe is the same thing.hope this helps and welcome to Canada.

INSURANCE - ALREADY IN CANADA QUESTION

    Hey guys,

Just wondering has anyone got insurance for the two years and then cancelled it once they crossed the boarder? I will have full coverage with work and just can't afford to be payin 1000 dollars for more insurance. I read it somewhere before but can't see the post now.

    Thanks!

This whole process has been ridiuclous after a total nightmare trying to apply and waiting forever. I sent them an email saying resend LOI. Today I receieved the POE introduction letter which I was delighted with till I read the Permit validity 2013/03/24 todays date. Meaning it expires today this cant be right. POE says "You must enter Canada no later than the validity noted above. If you have been issued a visa, you must also enter no later than the visa validity date.

I also checked my IEC account which says my Immigration Assement is pending and final decission is pending.

Anyone have a similar issue? Going to send them another E-mail now

Wow...from reading through everyones threads it seems like ye had a bit of a struggle getting stuff through yourselves. We took the easy way out and went through Visa first. I gt my letter today but my boyfriend hasnt gotten his yet.
My letter was dated mid March but it took 5 weeks for me to get it!!! Fingers crossed my boyfriend will get his soon!

Does anyone know what this statement on the letter means:

IMPORTANT: Regulations have established a maximum cumulative duration of four years that a Temporary
Foreign Worker can work in Canada. After four years of work has been accumulated, a period of 48 months
spent not working in Canada must elapse before another work permit can be issued, with some limited
exceptions. You are encouraged to keep track of any time you have not worked in Canada and retain any
documents which can prove the time which you did not work.

I dont think it applies to us. We can only get a 2 year visa and you'd have to apply for permanent residency during that time,if you stay over the two years your illegal unless you get sponsord.

Ya i figured as much. I had a minor panic earlier when i was reading other sites about the 12 month and wondered then why they even had this statement on the letter.
Its good to know that we can apply for permanent residency while we're there too.
    Cheers:)

    Hey Wendydoll,

Thanks very much for your help, I set up a GC account and submitted all my documents now I think. One more quick question if you dont mind. After I submitted my documents it came to the pay and transmit page, I had no option to pay so I just clicked transmit and my application was submitted. Have I missed something here? Is there not supposed to be a fee? I am applying for my first IEC visa. Also, what is the next step from here, is it just a waiting game? Thanks again!!

Whats the story with the digital signature on the forms? I have the IMM259E one and not sure if I should print it, sign it and scan it to upload or is there a different way?

also the digital photo, did people just use their own camera/phones to do it? or are you better off getting a passport pic done and scan it?

Questions in this forum need to only be asked once. A quick search will get you everything you need to know, it's been covered plenty of times. If the same question is asked repeatedly it just gets confusing and people start to panic.
