I was in the new coffee shop where Boss Hoggs was, nice spot, similar enough vibe to the place, lovely coffee. Will be back, the interior is better than it had been also, not kid friendly, but if you want a good cup of coffee with grown ups it's excellent. I was there twice this week and each time the coffee beans were ground fresh right in front of me for my coffee.

At the back or the skiing/horse riding shop.
There is a sale shop with good quality dresses (a lot of closet brand) for 20 euro and a hair dressers that does a cut and colour for 50 euro.

I've been going to that hairdressers since it opened a year or so ago. Great value and quite happy with them I have to say.

The only shop closed along there is Kehoes which is a food outlet but it's *tiny*. Its to the right of Cathedral if standing outside and looking at it if that's what you mean.

Yep. Was a tiny looking place alright. I'm figuring it'll be a takeaway burrito place. Maybe it'll have found extra space upstairs somewhere.

Upstairs is the casino now but there may be some odd corners left over - back when it was offices the floor levels were all over the place due to it being so many buildings.

That's just a franchise brand... it'll presumably still be one of the barmen behind the counter til 10 as normal.

It may give some price offers, though.

ooh I must take a look there tomorrow.
They often have lovely stuff but lovely expensive stuff!!

They have more craft beer than previously according to the flier at least. Nothing exciting but better than was there last time I looked.

Plenty of offers on the flier.

Work going on in the Express Fix place today, must be getting ready for student season. Rumour it's the same owner as the repair place beside AIB

Is the restaurant gone in the Newtown Inn? Saw a flier in there this morning, bbq every Sunday. Hot dogs 1.50, burgers 2.00.

Both its entries on Justeat are currently closed (Indian and pizza, which I didn't know it did) so its possible. Would be uncommon to not open on a bank holiday.

That place has never had something stay open for more than a few years.

The signs are down too, saw them in the back where the bottle bins are. I get there at 830 so have never seen it open.

Could that be where Apache are going? Their Facebook page says they're opening this week (having previously said June), and this site says Newtown SC.

That's the former Apache in Spar that closed about six years ago. It may yet be there, though.

Rebel went really downhill in the last year or so tbh. Such a shame as it was once my favourite takeaway in Maynooth. Sad to see it go though.

Just walked by and the Apache sign is up. Very sad day!

    Got Apache this evening.
It costs less but it was only ok and the wedges were horrible and oily.

There's a new organic food shop opening in Geraldine Court (between the equestrian shop and the hairdressers). I think they're opening this weekend but there still seemed to be a good bit of work to do when I passed earlier. Hopefully it'll work out for them.
