Is it ok to start a new thread for this or should it go in one of the UK threads?

I'm heading over to London in the van for the Olympics in August. Anyone else planning on doing the same?

Looking for recomendations for good campsites? Google throws up this which looks pretty good (a bit festival like!). Anyone else anything else to offer?

Also, if anyone has any opinions on the best ferry crossing for London? I'm based in Cork and had originally planned on using Cork - Swansea!

    Thanks.

Did u try looking at the caravan club site? They are providing extra sites for London this summer. Also look at site in the neighbouring countires that have good road and rail connections to the capital such as Kent, Oxfordshire etc. Best of luck!

As Jim mentioned, the caravan club temporary site is called Barleylands. Caravanclub membership works out at around €50 a year which is reasonable value if you were planning to visit some of their other sites.
Best ferry is probably IrishFerries, Roslare-Pembrook which is usually a bit cheaper than their Dublin-Hollyhead route.

The caravan club website appears to be down at the moment but I will definitely look into that. Do you have to be a member to use their sites?

Forgot to update this; booked the Motor Caravan Club Gravesham campsite.

    Looking forward to it now.
