Having awful trouble tracking down the correct tyres for my Lancia Fulvia series 3,

They are

Uniroyal rallye 165 r14 84t

Only place I could find that would sell me anything was quoting 90 euros a corner and they were a different metric size, http://www.tyreshop.ie/

Anyone know a good place in Dublin to try,
Anyone try ordering tyres from around the country abroad ever e.g.

I would try Ray Brady in Wexford not sure if he'll have them for you but he's into classics in a big way and if he hasn't got them he will know where to get them.

]Vintage Tyre Supplies (Beaulieu, Hampshire, UK)

or

Longstone Tyres (Bawtry (Doncaster), Yorkshire, UK)

I've had tyres from both in the past.

Have a look at these, your size is available, and they get good reviews as well.

Tried their two dealers, one said he couldnt get them and I couldnt get through to the other, I've emailed him thought so maybe later,
]Vintage Tyre Supplies (Beaulieu, Hampshire, UK)

or

Longstone Tyres (Bawtry (Doncaster), Yorkshire, UK)

They have the Vredestein tyres in stock but at e114 before vat and delivery thats a bit steep for my current budget,

You weren't kidding about the enthusiasm hahahaha,
left my info with him and he said he would get back to me but hasnt as of yet,

The only tyres I seem to be able to get at the moment are either,

Falken SN-807 165 r14 80 link
Uniroyal Rainsport 185 r14 70 link

what do you guys think, I've read that 185 is a bit too wide and will affect speedo accuracy, not too bothered about the speedo but how badly will it affect handling,

Is the Falken a crap tyre?

Given the limited production runs in odd sizes. €114 isn't too grim.

Last year :(, I had to cough up 354 GBP for three Michelin 145SR15s for my Citroen and the DAF had me for about €450 for five Vredestein 135/80 14s (a size that for some time had been obselete). Never mind the four Vredestein Snowtrac 3s in the relatively common 175/70 13s size that was about €280 for four.

I'd stretch the budget, but if the tyres want desperately doing then I'd probably even end up on Barums  rather than parked up!

The difference in rolling radius between a 165/80 and 185/70 is bugger all. How wide is the rim you are fitting it to?

Yes those prices sound ok for an odd size - for a tyre size of 205/70R14 (70’s Merc 350SE) I had a choice of Michelin at over €400, Vredestein Sprint Classic at around €180, or Nangkang and Maxxis at around €60-70.

The only other car that takes this size is the Ferrari 308 (there may be others, but that’s all thats on most listings).

In the end, I got the Vredesteins from Longstone in the UK, and I recommend them - modern grip with a classic look:

Ahhhh, the luxury of having a choice.

I didn't for one of them. I just had to part with the money. :(
