Not sure what to do with my midfield this week. Gonna start Silva, Bale and Tony V but my other 2 are Siggy (v Bolton a) or Ben Arfa (v Stoke h).

    Opinions?

I'd nearly drop Tony V against Everton, I don't see Utd running riot.

Or depends on your strikers, 5 man mid with them players seems like a nice plan!

Thanks lads. Front 3 at the moment is RvP, Rooney and Cisse. Looking to shift one of the big 2 for Tevez and play 3 strikers, hence the dilemma in midfield. Really not sure what to do. Siggy is great away from home and Bolton have lost their last 2. Ben Arfa is in great form. But so are my front 3!

    No idea what to do.

this drop RvP or Rooney for Aguerro or Tevez scenario is killing me. I have a wildcard which i'm going to play next week so i'm looking purely at this week

Yep this is going to make or break people as much as the double game week I feel.

Firstly if you drop the wrong one you will be down a load of points and then if you pick the wrong city striker you will be down another load of points

So you will either be lucky and pull away at the top/move a lot closer to the top
    or
drop your lead at the top/fall away from the top

It really is a coin toss this one, no amount of stats are going to help I feel :( sadly

I'm staying away from the whole City beating Wolves into the middle of next week bandwagon. I've kept Rooney and RvP and instead have brought in Cisse for Torres. He's at home to Stoke and has a DGW next week. Silva is my captain so when City do hammer Wolves hopefully he gets in on the act.

In my opinion there's more to be gained from the DGW coming up than making a 50/50 call Rooney or RvP.

done - Rvp and Sessgnon out
    > Aguerro and Dempsey in

Who would the best cheap midfielder be to bring in? I'm making the Aguero leap, but trying to keep RVP and Rooney too. So dropping Walcott and haven 5.8 for a replacement. Already have McLean and Sigurdsson.
Was thinking of Petrov for Bolton as they play twice next two game weeks. Any other options I'm missing?

Cabaye has a double next week, and costs 5.8.

Fulham's Stephen Kelly has just been red flagged with an expected return date of the 28th.

I'm taking the if in doubt do nothing approach to the Aguero/Tevez problem. Going into this week with no City attack is going to be terrifying though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 487 ✭✭Juxtapose

already did rooney - aguero but thinking walcott - dempsey for a 4 point hit might be worth it.
cant afford him doing well against wigan as 2 teams chasing me have him. take the hit now or wait till next week?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,264 ✭✭✭✭manual_man

finding it VERY hard to pick a starting 11 this week... currently have Valencia and Evans benched

If your getting him next week anyway, do it this week. This week and GW37 are the appealing games for Dempsey. I don't expect too much from the double.

    same as that
    keep changing my bench

sess, bae skrtel and reina are there at the min
but i dont see valencia or mig doing much, unsure bout walcott or caulker too
but i tend to go with swansea if im not sure anymore
not sure bout arsenal this week, depends on what kind
of team chelsea put out but id imagine after the midweek
heroics that itll be good for arsenal

He's handy enough, solid enough in the SPL and he was the Swansea keeper when they were in League One to promotion via playoff. Hasnt played a EPL match though, he could stop bullets or pull a Ruddy

Wigan have been playing well in recent weeks but Fulham will be more patient than the big teams have been and will be well aware of them after the Arsenal match. I think it will be a close match, who else do you have?

    Is that my strongest 11?

Still not convinced that Newcastle or Swansea will keep a clean sheet

I put Tevez and Aguero in for next week because I think City will run riot at Wolves and score 5 or 6 goals. A gamble, but one I'm prepared to take.

Im still debating doing this transfer.. would be for a 4 point hit and both people behind in my league have dempsey.

dont think i want to take the hit as i will prob take one next week, but its so tempting especially as ill be getting him next week!
wigan have to crumble eventually right?

Martin Jol said that Pog and Aj are back fit so that means by the time the DGW comes around Demps will be pushed back into midfield again more then likely

5-0 to Cit-eh with a brace from Silva! :pac:

Haha. Well who knows. Nobody expected them to get a cs against Sunderland! Though with the form City are on I'd expect them to destroy them

Anyone else find that money is not really an issue right now? Just played a wildcard to set myself up for the double gameweek and the two weeks after, and I have £8.4 million left in the bank. Feel kinda bad having it just sit there, but the in form and favourable fixture players right now aren't that expensive.

Course it doesnt, pretty much irrelevant in the last few GW's. Thats before we get into the madness of the last GW of the season where form often goes completely out the window unless the team has something to play for or is playing at home

Yeah I had planned on getting in VDV now I'm thinking Pineaar instead. Might take an 8 point hit
Valencia, Sig and Greham out, Pineaar, Cabaye and Cisse to come in.

With my disappointing week that I've had, having made all the changes I deemed neccesary for the upcoming DGW, I decided that something else which must simply be done to strengthen my team and bring along good fortune, was a change in kit, which I think you'll agree, is rather lovely and ties in with my club name.

Ha I changed my team-name a few months ago and the difference was unreal. I've shot up about 100,000 places.

I used the same name that I had for my team in the American football FF league. It was my first year doing that and I won every trophy in the league and my team was by far the best.

It's obviously a complete and utter coincidence that the change made such a difference for me but I like to think that it played a major part. It gave my players a new lease of life to be fair. They were able to break free from the shackles of the previous regime :pac:.

Yes, it's gives it a breathe of fresh air, I don't think it coincidence at all, it is pleasing to the gods of Football Fantasy, and they in turn have rewarded you well, I only wish I had changed my team kit sooner, for as soon as I had so in December, my team rose greatly and showed no fear, picking up points like there was no tomorrow. It is fate.

Yep did the same moves myself, at a 4 point hit to get Tevez in for Rooney. Coupled with having Rooney as captain the week RVP scored high, and the opposite the following week. Captain choice has cost me a massive amount of points the last 3 weeks and has seen me drop from 3rd to 15th in boards league :(

A bloody brain fart this week, out went Rooney (who was my captain at the time) and in came Tevez. Decided to stick with van Persie. A net loss of 16 points which saw me slip to second in my league. I wouldnt mind but I'm normally so cautious regarding transfers, and that one was made at 11am on Saturday.

On to next week. Jelavic in for Tevez, giving me 6 DGW players. Jelavic, Cisse, Bale, Simpson, Bogdan and Ben Arfa. Who to captain?

56 so far, with Martin Petrov to play again tomorrow night.
15 ahead in lge now, and broke thru the 2000 barrier :)

Other guy in contention has no Bolton/Villa players so hopefully Petrov had the game of his life!

Right guys need your help please after falling behind mate in private league he has a 40 point lead and need to reel him in my team below:

    Vorm/Mignolet
    Kelly, Enrique, Verm, Evans, Simpson
    Sess,McClean, Siggy, Valencia, Bale
    Cisse, Aguero, RVP
I've used my transfer this week shipped Walcott for Bale.

His team is and he has 2 free transfer this week:
    Vorm/Krul
    Cahill, Bardsley, Evans, Kelly, Shawcross
    Siggy, Valencia, Demp, Walcott, McClean
    Cisse, Rooney & RVP

Is it worth taking an 8 point to get a few more DGW in and if so who do we recommend.. I've had a really good season so far into the top 7k overall. Any tips much appreciated...
