A bit of classic porn with this one.

The ocean going Tug 'Elbe', built in the Netherlands in 1959 and used as a tug until 1976 when she sailed to Cobh to be converted to a pilot-vessel by Verolme United Shipyards. She then worked in the States for 8 years before being sold to Greenpeace. Sacrificed for the "greater good" by Greenpeace, she was damaged and seized by the French in the Mururoa atoll.

After 6 months, the French donated her to the Harbour Museum in Rotterdam (NLD) for preservation restored to her original state and after a long a difficult process, she is now back to her former glory. And what a pretty thing she is, all curves, open lifeboats, HF antenna in the masts and a bridge that would terrify any young deck officer with the lack of electronic equipment!

Would the way she is being pulled not cause her to hit the left wall, or are there some other forces at play here.

Also stacks of ships on a ship:

There is part of me wonders is the above photoshoped but then again it does carry loads like this, US Missile Defence Radar:

If you look at the Ocean Cygnus' deck at the centre right of the photo, you can see some crew gathered and looking over the side. I'd imagine things are getting tight there and the tug is trying to inch her away from that side. In reality the tug probably weaves back and forth quite a bit to keep the bow away from the walls.

Nope, that's for real (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2158305/Thats-load-ships-The-carrier-boat-hold-22-barges--oil-rig--back.html). Dockwise have some interesting ships and probably the most unusual cargoes on the high seas.

The smell of a wooden ship, the noise of the creaking rigging, the sight of all sails aloft; the humble diesel engine changed that forever (well almost)
