I worked on the seahorse supplier for a few years. I still remember the first time I saw a proper supply ship. You could have put us on their deck and still have room for a few boxes and pipes.

The crew of USS Point Cruz (that's just the crew for the ship, not including the crew for the 'air wing' side of things!)

The Rotterdam - a real beauty that entered service right at the end of the age of the liners. She still survives as a floating hotel and meuseum ship.

Beautiful ship I remember seen her anchored in Galway Bay when the Holland American Liners used to operate a service to New York, she only made one call to Galway as it was always the "Ryndam" and "Maasdam" that operated that service. Check out this page on "Galway Ships website Galway in the past some great old pictures.

    Wel.... http://ssrotterdam.com/hotel/

It is a hotel nowadays so instead of the usual "get ****ed in amsterdam" trip, go visit Rotterdam for a change.

I remember seeing her once in Cork outer harbour back in the sixties sometime. The Nieuw Amsterdam used to be the regular caller.
