IS A HEAD OK FOR THIS TYPE OF SUPPORT?

We are in the process of getting an extension to the back of the house. We will have double french doors with a full length window each side so it will be 4x900mm going across.

The builder has put in 2 heads for support, is this OK? I would have thought this width would require an RSJ.

    Any thoughts/opinions appreciated.

    Cheers

You need to ask a structural engineer!

I would not use concrete heads to span 3.6 metres.

Ask your engineer, but is it a single story extension?. Your engineer or his will give you the sign off on that.
