5.1 to 7.1 What speakers to buy??

Hi Guys,

I am looking at upgrading my sound system from a 5.1 to 7.1
Can you recommend any good speakers?

I have a Denon AVR-3312 and Acoustic Energy Aego T speakers but these speakers have been discontinued. I'm not looking for bookshelf speakers, something small. I'm in an apartment so space is limited.

My couch goes right up against the wall i'm looking to mount these on, would the sound be ok if speaker is about a foot away from head?
Or would i be better off just sticking to a 5.1

i am looking at putting these extra speakers on the same wall as the side speakers and would only be about 1 or 2 foot away from my head?

Would i benefit anything from the additional speakers or could i actually end up making it sound worse? see room layout attached..

the 45HD speakers look nice. is that price the best you can do?
what are the shipping costs to dublin?
do you stock the mission m cubes?

Thanks for getting back to us.

You could work a 7.1 system in that room.

What I would do is maybe use the Monitor Audio 45s for your rear surround in the middle of the room. And keep your rears behind the sofa.

Not really in a position to move speakers to middle of room (window) and room just over 10 foot wide but was worth a try. Guess 4 speakers (2 pointing sideways and 2 forward) on the same wall just doesn't work.
