Got a new wm and it doesn't wash the clothes at a wool wash. They actually come out with more stains on them. Got the installer out - he could find no problem. Rang the company and they sent out their repair guy....he reprogrammed it but problem isn't solved. Basically don't want it anymore - now its got a warranty etc. but has anyone here any experience of returning a washing machine or is it really difficult to get them to take it away and replace it?
    Thanks

Did the company send out there own repair guy or a repair guy from the manufacturer ? I would find it strange if they did not send out someone from the manufacturer or authorized by them.
Did you try a different detergent to see is it that?

I've found from experience that wool cycles require less detergent, or else another spin cycle after the main one. My machine often leaves detergent marks on the clothes if I put in too much detergent - probably because the wool cycle is shorter and it doesn't get time to wash it all away. So I usually follow it with a quick rinse and spin cycle.

What sort of detergent did you use?

fairy non bio in the bubbly holder that goes in with the wash

i would try the same detergent in the detergent drawer, just in case, before you contact the company again.

I can't see them replacing your machine because it won't work with one type of dosing system.

I would not think using a dosing ball is recommended by manufacturer.

The detergent manufacturer does not seem to recommend that product for machine washing wool.

I would try a specialised wool product like Woolite. Check what the machine instructions say too. The problem is that the wool wash is probably less vigorous than your old one and doesn't agitate the clothes enough for the product you used. This is much better for delicate clothes.

I agree, I use the woolite gel, but in the drawer and its great. the gel is supposed to be used in the cap, but i find it works better from the drawer.

are you using the 'half load' button?

Are all other loads working fine?

well our old banger of a washing machine was great for washing the clothes at any wash. The other half and our baby mostly have clothes that need to be washed in a wool wash under 40 degrees. I assumed that with the new washing machine that if you press the wool wash button then it would simply wash the clothes given the advances in technology in recent years! I will get her to try the drawer instead of using the bubble and we will try it with less washing liquid. In fairness though its a bit of a pain as the clothes come out with food stuck on them [especially the child's clothes] and also with white marks here and there. If it doesn't improve soon its going back, simple as that! its a hotpoint by the way.

Only clothes with 40o and 2 dashes under the symbol need a wool / delicate wash.

i have used the wool wash on my mother machine and its brilliant even though its only 32 mins, you might have a point OP. her machine is about 3 years old, mine is way older!

If you intend on sending it back, act ASAP.

Write to the store telling them you are rejecting the machine as being not fit for purpose. be prepared for them to say there is no change of mind if the product is used. if you and the store cant come to an agrement, your next option would be the small claims court.

I don't think a wool wash on a modern washing machine is not going to remove any sort of heavy soiling. You will need to use one of the more vigorous washes. If it was ok in your old washing machine, it will probably be fine.

I would say your old machine probably had a much more vigorous wool wash.

I would talk to the manufacturer's technical support before raising a dispute.

If you think the machine is not fit for purpose you should act very quickly. But I don't really think you have evidence for that though. They will say that you are just not using a vigorous enough setting to meet your needs.
