Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The thing that is going to annoy me most is that if we fail in this group (which let's face would be the most likely conclusion regardless of whose managing us) is that the already sizeable anti Trap bandwaggon will reach unbearable levels afterwards.

If you're looking for a prophetic post from this thread look no further.

Even take Staunton out of the equation, and Brian Kerr was nothing special either. All the supposedly negative tactics of Trap (and more) without any sort of final result. He was all fart and no shit, he couldn't get the job done when it really mattered and started to blame everyone around him. I was waiting for him to come out and blame the colour of the jerseys for his failure at one point. He's not fit to lace Trap's boots IMO.

Trapattoni is a fantastic manager who has done a fantastic job with a limited bunch of players.

He's dragged us further and further down the world rankings and dropped us into the 4th seeding pot making it harder and harder for us to ever qualify again. Basically putting a millstone around the next managers neck. Not to mention the amount of players he publicly fell out with. Good riddance and i pity whatever club or country he ends up with next.

Trap's win percentage record is much better than that of John Giles which is a stat I wish had been mentioned on RTE.

I don't think I ever saw "win percentage" even once considered as a statistic prior to the advent of Wikipedia. It's a pretty pointless stat in a sport like football (where so many games end up a draw). That feeling goes doubly so when you consider these figures factor in friendly games too.

I'd gladly celebrate a manager who could give us a final group record of "P10 W6-D4-L0" + (10 straight friendly losses) for a paltry 'win percentage' of 30%.
