Ronnie Montrose, RIP

Ronnie passed away on Sat 03 Mar 2012 after battling prostate cancer for the last few years. Both bands kicked off in '72, but Montrose got a record deal early whereas Van Halen built up a live audience and worked hard on the shows. Ronnie was a kind of Jimmy Page as he was a popular session man and knew the business well. Both were great bands back in the day.
