I am thinking of setting up a small business from home selling. Has anyone any advice on where to buy maternity/baby products in bulk? Just for small home business so not looking for huge amounts. What do others do? Can you just buy them from supermarkets or do people order abroad online?

I have no experience in the particular field you are looking into but generally:

If you are buying in products from distributors you have 3 main options:

    1. Buy to order, this is okay for higher value items, but you have to remember you'll probably be payign a shipping fee per item which will add to your overall costs

    2. Minimum Order Quantity buying. This means buying a bulk amount of a product. The advantages of this is you usually get each individual item at a cheaper price, also the cost of shipping is spread over multiple items.

    3. Direct shipping. Some distributors offer the option of direct shipping the products to your customer. So basically they act as your stock room.
