    Maybe because the Indo have limited resources to moderate all replies to an article, and that second article is likely to be particularly labour intensive.

    Sometimes the Indo seem to remove comment facilities when the commentators are particularly critical of the Indo, it seems. A recent case was the "All you need to know about the treaty and the Referendum" which was one of the least informative and most misleading pieces of Irish journalism I've seen recently... and members of the public pointed this out before the comment facility was quickly removed.

    The Independent only allows comments which are damaging to Fine Gael and Labour in Government or not and they are effectively the print media arm of Fianna Fail. Anyone who ever reads their tripe will quickly realize this.
