an opinion on this one if you can, or a correct ruling -

ok so - a friendly poker league - texas hold em

9 players 1500 chips sit n go tourney, 1st 2nd 3rd gets paid with most points at end of the year/league.

so 30 mins into the game we notice 2 cards missing and they are under the chip box. so bum deal. then you get the low stacks shouting the whole game is void and scream like little girls for a re-start. so the amateurs that we are no-one knows what to do.

arguments all over the place, high stacks want to continue- low stacks want to void- middle guys dont care. we all agree that all players were at the same disadvantage.

so we have a vote there and then - hands up to continue - 7 hands go up - ok thats sorted we keep playing - no restart.

the row has contiued on today that it should be still voided.
if the rules state that the game should have been voided - do we void it or was it dealt with there and then regardless of the rules.

any opinions or rules appreciated - oh and when i say a friendly game - there is about 3 grand prize money up for grabs at the end of the league

This is why it is important to have a designated Tournament Director running the show ,too often I have seen in pub games where there is no Director and common sense goes out the window ,everybody is trying to apply a ruling that suits themselves best .
