Looking for ladies opinions on this if possible (mods please move if not in right forum)...

Meeting a girl for first date drinks in Dublin City Centre and looking where you ladies would recommend?

Want somewhere that's a bit fancy but not with banging music so we can actually have a conversation...

    Anywhere you would recommend?

    Better here Macers

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

    Comedy club, Eden Quay

Ye can meet beforehand for a drink in the Cellar there below Connelly Station.

    It's a grand place

Though this sounds like a second date to me :)

This is exciting! OP, will you post back and let us know where you went and how you got on? Oh, and pics or GTFO, obviously ;)

Anyway - I'd say +1 to The Mercantile. Depends on what day you're going though...midweek somewhere like Hogan's might be pretty nice, or The Globe.

I wouldn't go to the snail place, personally...been there 3 times now and I find it a bit of a nightmare. Crowded, noisy and it just feels like I'm in somebody's front room.

Dakota is good cause you have the booths, Kehoe's on South Anne St (especially upstairs) and also Bruxelle's (upstairs then down to the live music if the night goes on!)

    Haha will do!

Going in Thursday of next week...looking forward to it but really want to get a nice spot. Been the Mercantile (was a Saturday in fairness) and seemed a bit noisey...

The bar in The Morgan was recommended too - any opinions on that?

    Hey,
It may be a bit too late but The Morgan on Fleet Street (temple bar) is a really good place to go for a first date, very classy !
You can listen to great street musicians on your way back, romantic :)

Sorry for the long delay... Ended up in The Morgan.

Was a little noisy but was good - bigger crowd than normal in it...
