Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi.

Can someone shed some light on my iPhone 4 repair status.

It was received by apple today in England.

And the repair status has updated to the following

    Step 3 Return

March 7, 2012: Product replacement pending

What does this mean? And how long can this stage take?

    Many thanks

It means its pending a replacement phone being organised.
Depends on stock levels how long, but Apple is normally very quick to turn them around.

So my phone isn't being repaired. Will it be a new iPhone 4? Will it have the same serial number or will I have to register it?

It will be a new iphone and you should register the new serial

Usually a refurb, but as good as new....new casing etc.

Most likely you'll see the replacement shipped tomorrow. If you're not lucky enough to get it tomorrow afternoon, then you'll definitely have it by Friday.

I got a replacement iphone last week. The step 3 is still the same and didn't change when the phone was shipped.

The home button started to act up on the original phone I had. The refurb I got then started to turn itself off everyday so i had to send that back to be replaced.

Thanks for the quick reply, How did you know it was a refurb?

    Thanks

Home button for me too. Worked every five times or so.

I guess it was a refurb but I have to say it looked as good as new. I am sure most are refurbs as I can't imagine they just throw out the phones that are returned to them.

Refurbs are normally shipped in a plain box with no accessories.

Reason I ask is I had to send my iPhone on Friday due to "no service" Apple staff said a refurb is all new just made by them in England. I don't like the thought of getting a second hand iphone. Did it take long for them to get you're phone back?

    Thanks

Refurb is as good as new, all new casing, battery and fully tested.
