Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    ladies and gentlemen

ive 5 out of 8 blue and chalaois heifers calved. They calved outside and are on grass since i bought them 2 weeks ago got this stuff BLOOM Mineral for milking cow and it says give 100grms daily.
is this ok to give tthem for mineral deficiencies with a few nuts. Not sure if they are lacking something just got it for insurance against grass tetany etc. Is it ok to give to 3 that are not calved

Should i give them nuts until they get back in heat even if they look in good condition?

Also looking for some suggestions on what bull to ai them with 5 milky belgium blue and 3 charlaois would an easy calving charlaois be way to im looking to increase herd so want to get good breeding into system rather muscular calves
a lot of questions i know but im a bit green as ye can see

not too sure on the minerals but i know theres an issue with giving magnesium pre and post calving. different amounts for different times.
As for the bull to put on the cows, i definately wouldnt put a charlaois on a blue. your putting a big boned bull on a muscly blue, whaich are well known for having a narrow pelvis. basically means a hard calving and chances are a dead calf if you arent used to it.
Personally i reckon a limo bull on a blue cow throws a very stylish calf. as for the charlaois you may want to try a blue bull on them but definately go with an easy calver. or just stick with a charlaois.

something ive been looking at lately are the blondes and pretty impressed with the calves i'm seeing on the ground on a few farms ive been on.
