How to set up authors in wordpress

    How can I set up author privledges for some people in wordpress and let other people have publishing rights. ie 5 or 6 people have author rights and then one person has publishing rights- publisher rights..

    Quite easily - it's all built in. Go to www.example.com/wp-admin/user-new.php on your site, add the new user there. At the bottom of that page choose the Role you wish that user to have.

    These are the 3 Roles you will probably be most interested in:

    Editor - Somebody who can publish and manage all posts and pages
    Author - Somebody who can publish and manage their own posts
    Contributor - Somebody who can write and manage their posts but not publish them
