Entry to Blackhall and getting papers signed

My friend has spent the last 2 years looking for a traineeship but no luck. I've been lucky enough this year to get my placement.

In relation to getting papers signed can any qualified solicitor sign them? Or do they have to be qualified for a certain amount of years or have X no. of employees?

I know it is frowned upon to just get your papers signed without a traineeship but Im beginning to think it may be the only way my friend will get into Blackhall this year
    Any advice?
