    Hi Guys,

I'm going to buy a receiver later this month. It will be used primarily for watching movies and playing games, at low volumes. I'd like it to feature:

    Airplay
Audyssey or something other way of handling dynamic volume levels. (My current receiver is either really quiet or really loud.)
A usable GUI on the TV
    Network capability (wired is fine)
CEC (not a deal breaker but I gather this would be a good way of future proofing the receiver)
    HD audio

I have a 5.1 set up at the moment. My sitting room is small and I am not sure if it would benefit from 6.1 or 7.1 (correct me if I'm wrong). Also, I don't really care about 3D.

I am interested in the Denon 1912 and the Pioneer you have on special offer at the moment. I've also heard good things about the Onkyo TXNR609 and a Yamaha RXV867. I used a Denon and a Sony in the past and I preferred the Denon.

Which one do you recommend? Is there anything coming down the tracks that I should wait for?

    Thanks!

PS Can you quote me a price on the Q Acoustics Q7000 centre speaker?

Lets just put it this way....

...I'll have some 'interesting' Boardie special pricing on AV Receivers tomorrow for this week, Paddy's weekend and next week for as long as stocks last....

..And they will be even more interesting when purchased with any Speakers ;)

...Keep your eye out in the morning (Tuesday March 13th)

    Hi Silvine.

    Cheers for the quick reply.

I personally would go for the SR5005 as I only have very limited stock of these and at this, it's a much better sounding receiver than the Pioneer.

The Pioneer does have extra bells and whistles, but for sheer sound quality...and build, the Marantz is the one to go for.

On the subwoofer issue, I'm not sure of the size of your room, but if you wanted something nice then take a look at the Cambridge SL90.

This was £229.95 but I only have 2 left and I can do you one at £159.95.

Alternatively the Vector VW8 sub has been very popular. This doesn't have the same doesn't have as wide a range as the Cambridge, but still a bargain. Most places sell this for around £249 and we have them at just £169.95.

We have a 1.5 or 3m sub cable for £9.99.

Delivery of the receiver, sub and cable would be £12.99.

Let me know what you think.

    ATB
