I have standing ticket for the Melbourne test. It says go in any Gate so I assume the standing area goes all around the stadium behind the first tier of seats. Can anyone confirm this and recommend where would be best view-wise?

Also where would be good to watch the first test in Melbourne?

I only managed standing tickets as well. I've watched a few AFL games in Etihad and would always stand around where the corner flag would be on a rugby field.
I'm probably going to try and get a spot around the 22. The halfway line, in my opinion is too far back considering the round field.

Where are you in Melbourne that would suit to watch the game? The city or somewhere outside it? There is a brilliant new sports bar after opening in Moonee Ponds but that would be a bit outside the city.

Otherwise, I'd say the Turf Bar and The Mitre would be good spots in the city.

Mitre was rubbish to watch the First game in Hong Kong, wouldnt go back

Yeah reckon turf bar in the city. If you're around south east region id go to college lawn - its a rugby union bar - not the best but it'll do when your stuck

Fantastic weekend. Incredible atmosphere around Brissy all weekend, insane numbers of Lions fans about.

Now, I just want to get back to Melbourne and sleep for couple of days. Getting too old for this sh1t :)

I went down from Sydney - fantastic atmosphere, Caxton street was a great spot to build up to game.

I've 2 bronze tickets for Saturday. Looking to swap with Silver tickets and pay the difference if anybody is interested?? Please!!

Also where is everybody going pre-match? Getting into town early - might go to turf bar.

Edit: Looks like there is something on at Fed square

Well great match all coming down to the last kick just short but at least means a good match n Sydney next weekend.

I've been to the two matches so far, thought the atmosphere in Melbourne was fantastic, but the city was lacking the buzz brisbane had (in my opinion) in Brisbane everyone seemed to know about the match, but we bumped into some locals and they didn't really care.

Sydney should be great 80k odd sell out, only problem is getting home ;)

I agree. Melbourne was great but buzz around Brissy just that bit better.

Can anyone recommend a good place to watch the game in Perth on Saturday? I'm there with work for the weekend, and i'd like somewhere with a good atmosphere. I'm out in Forrestfield, but am happy to travel wherever i need to.

Casino sports bar is probably your best bet, or else somewhere like JB O'Reilly's in West Leederville.

The Paddington Hotel (Paddo) in Mount Hawthorn was rocking for the first two tests.

Arrive early and get the lion’s share of the Lions Tour experience . . .

Just when you thought the Lions Tour – 12 years in the making – couldn’t get any bigger, the Australian Rugby Union and Sydney Olympic Park will be hosting the ultimate pre-match party, with a live site throughout Saturday.

Soak up the gold and red atmosphere from 10am as the action kicks off with the Big Brewery BBQ where alliances are sure to be tested, with an Australia v UK and Ireland music battle on the speakers and a BBQ v HP sauce war by the grills.

From 2pm Cathy Freeman Park will come to life with a monster bar – 75m in length – in amongst a range of live music and entertainment, plus more than 30 bars, restaurants and cafes in Sydney Olympic Park village all themed and open early and late for this once-in-a-lifetime occasion.

Dusk will bring about Sydney Olympic Park’s signature light show – this time in Wallabies gold. Thanks to Foxtel, a giant screen will also be in play to screen the big match for those who don’t have tickets.

ANZ Stadium will not only host the highly-anticipated series decider, but the venue will welcome sports fans from far and wide in their eateries and bars from Gates Open at 5pm – including two beer gardens on the north and south side of the venue.

Leave the car at home and take advantage of the fact your match-day ticket includes the cost of public transport to Sydney Olympic Park.

We hope you enjoy the Wallabies v Lions experience!

Yep, sh!te decision. He and Roberts complemented each other brilliantly on last tour. He may not have been fantastic in first two but his leadership in last test would be invaluable.

I think it's an awful decision, Davies hasn't exactly been in flying form lately. The Guardian have summed it up well with the following

"Who would you trust to make the right decision at either end of the field with five minutes left? Who would you want to say the last few words in the dressing-room before leading the team out? Who would Jonny Sexton prefer to have wearing 13? If dropping O'Driscoll is the answer, what on earth is the question?"
