1. Might be the main north south road through Doughiska called Doughiska road but I reckon it is the one on top of that called the "Old Ballybrit Road." The new Ballybrit road north of that is marked Monivea Road on maps but is known as the "Old Monivea Road". The current Monivea road is called Bothar na dTreabh, Dualler past racecourse entrance. Nobody I know calls it the new Monivea Road though.

That seems to be Doughiska Road / Bóthar Deoch Usice. Although given the level of street signage in Galway, you would be left wondering.Sponge Bob wrote: »1. The road itself.
Somewhere around "The Cottages" according to this. . Astonishingly the application was granted ONLY after it mysteriously moved to "The Cottages" Monivea Road.....that Monivea Road known as Old Monivea Road locally. 0 -
victor - ballybrit road is what's now referred to as the parkmore road, it was renamed in the past few years. The old Monivea Rd is probably the stretch of road that goes from Coynes along the back of Ballybrit heights and merges back with the Monivea rd at the former McGreals shop. I can't say I've ready of anybody using that term recently about any of the roads in the area, it's all still the Monivea Rd to us.
The road layout is there so long it's probably fallen out of use except by some of the older people (and becoming fashionable with blowins who like renaming things to annoy us).0 -
