    Hi all,

So im at lost end and wondering if anyone has ever tried acupuncture to aid with their fertility treatment?

im currently TTC but am not having spontanious periods - althought i have had 2 now in the last 5 months which is fantastic!! ive tired 3 rounds of clomid with no success so my next appt is next week which hopefully we will discuss further treatment but he wanted me to go away and loose some weight first (which i have but weather it will be enough is a diff story!!)

so i saw a advert for acupuncture and she specialises in infertility and fertility.... just wondering if it is worth a shot and if so how people feel about it all?? also is it painfull?

    Hiya.
I have pcos and have used acupuncture a few times. I certainly found that it helped regulate my periods. I went to a regular acupuncturist and she advised me to come in cd5 and then around the time I thought I was ovulating. I conceived after about 3 regularish cycles. That was after not having a period for 18 months at one stage!
Since then I have attended an acupuncturist who specialises in infertility and I am wary of that experience. Probably because I have been round the block a bit with infertility. I found that she was very quick to push supplements on me and insisted that I needed to come twice a week etc. It put me right off.
So I would say ask around, get some recommendations from people you can trust.
Also.... It doesn't hurt, a little pinch and that's it. Some people find it v relaxing. Personally I didn't but I wasn't uncomfortable. Good luck!

I'm having acupuncture for fertility and stomach/digestion problems. I've had 5 sessions and my stomach problems are virtually gone:)
I find it extremely relaxing once the needles are in. Some of them hurt going in, others I don't feel at all.
My acupuncturist is very professional but very laid back, she's brilliant. I'd recommend it, even just from the relaxation point of view. I'm on day 22 now and I'm surprisingly chilled

    Hi there

I have to echo the other girls. I began seeing my accupuncturist in August and am hooked. I initially went for a few reasons mainly boiling down to the fact we were contemplating beginning ttc and I am a fairly anxious/stressed person so knew I would be driving myself wild every month and making ttc impossible!!

What I didnt realise was it is great for regulating the cycle so I went from anywhere from 28day -56 days the next to since starting a 31-33day cycle which is great. The woman I see is great which I think has alot to do with it, she is not at all clinical and if anything I get alot from just talking to her for about 20mins every session, she gives great advice and isnt pushy at all......so def go on recommendation :)

Generally the tenser you are the more you will feel the needles but I find the needles themselves a non issue....once they're in they're in you just forget about it. I really look forward to my sessions and I dont know how to explain but everything just seems so much more possible after each one......my husband has noticed a big change, he says I'm so much more positive since starting.
