Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

There are many elderly farmers living on their own like Nally all over the country. Many of those do not sleep soundly, they are constantly worried about being burgled and attacked. I can understand what loss of sleep and constant fear can do to a human being, so I can understand why he did what he did.

I live remote and I have had a few incidents here at night as well during the day. The Gardai are next to useless, even if they wanted to help it would take them at best 30 minutes to get here IF they can find my place. A few years back someone kicked in my front door while I was away, when I came back there was blood in the yard and the four dogs who were behind the kicked in door when I left were in the yard with one of them very happy looking. Any idiot who kicks in a door with barking dogs behind it deserves to be bitten. Obviously, nothing was taken and the dogs were unharmed. I called the Guards as there was a fat shoe print on the frame of the door as well as in the mud at the gate.

They sent the local guy who couldn't have cared less. He didn't even take a picture of the imprint etc. Total waste of time.

Only three weeks ago the dogs raised hell at half past two in the morning and a car took off with spinning tyres from my gate. I would have no problem using my gun if I had to.
