    Two flashes and a rumble.
Plenty of hail. Watching it from Sandymount strand.

Today could be a nice day.

Was in the city centre at the time. Heavy rain and hail shower with 2 flashes + thunder.

One flash of lighting and a quick roar of thunder over Swords. Very heavy rain.

Just looking at the radar and then out to what's coming from my northwest. Looks like the heaviest part is just missing to the north and is getting Lucan.

just as the winds shift a nice whitey shower is heading to my north.

but winds have shifted west from northwest so this just going to hit Swords area/Donabate

Although there is a big cluster of pretty sharp showers heading for all of Dublin.

Yeah a potential line of developing cells just to the west of Dublin. Could be interesting.

Nothing has happend in D4 since 2pm. Have been seeing some nice rain/hail showers to the north and south all day.

A nice night time electric display would be nice. But I think we are due a meteor shower tonight, so clear skies would be welcome too.

Met Éireann's TAF for Casement, issued at 3 pm, gives only moderate rain showers up to 8pm. Nothing more exciting than that :(

There is a frontal system approaching from the southwest so increasingly the showers would die out ahead of that anyway. Next hour or two last throw of the dice.

That mini band of heavy showers is getting closer to Dublin. Looking at the radar intensity you would imagine there would be a few flashes.

Down here in Waterford nothing of note today. Just a few heavy showers with a total of 0.6mm falling.

Tuesday afternoon's looking juicy for more heavy thundery showers as upper levels cool again in the wake of tomorrow's low. Conditions look better the further north and east you go.

This is a nice graph showing the lightning rate per hour over the past few days from 50-80N and 10E-50W. Interesting to see how reliant storms are on solar heating at this time of the year, with the most activity occuring in the early afternoon when diabatic heating is at a maximum.

Raining heavily in Dublin 9 now. Doesn't look like it's going to clear any time soon but I don't get a sense of there being any thunder yet.

Noticed this sun halo today while out looking at big shower approaching, shower died out as usual.
Took with the phone so the suns blurred out

Once the cloud associated with the rain band to the south clears, looking good again today for good convection, heavy showers and thunderstorms once we get a bit of sun to heat the ground.

Turning into a pretty good April shower season.

Note: Might not be so good for us on the east coast with wind onshore at the moment from the east and only forecast to go north during the day. Might be another day of watching (from a distance) the heavy showers pass by.

Looking good for the inland south today.
