3 year ban

I got a 3 year ban for overstaying back in 2005. My girlfriend will be getting a sponsored visa soon and intention is for me to get the partner visa. We've being living together for over a year etc so all good on that count I believe. Anyone have any experience of this and will my history effect my chances? Cheers

Aus is a pretty straight forward place if you where banned for three years and the period is up I don't see the issue.

However it will of course not look good that you have flouted policy on a previous occasion.

Not looking good and a refusal are far removed.
