mobile phone insurance

    always wondered about this as regards mobile phone insurance.
    Whats to stop someone with an iphone, for example, who doesn't have any insurance waiting until the phone is lost/stolen, then getting insurance, waiting a week or two and making a claim?

    i'm sure the insurance companies have ways to prevent this. what are they?

    i sure hope so, lost iphone 3 days ago and no insurance

    You need a receipt and insurance can only be gotten within 28 to 60 days of that date (depends on insurer)

    have you had any luck?
    i still have my receipt with serial number, IMEI etc and am considering gadgetinsurance.ie...
