Depends. Do you want the whole diddly eye experience or something a bit quieter?

Irish talent or local? Irish 'talent' is pretty limited tbh (speaking as a bloke anyway).

The obvious spot is Rosie O'Grady's in Northbridge. I generally hate the place but go there for a few hours on Paddy's Day as my one a year quota. They close off part of the street and have a lot of outdoor entertainment - bands, Irish dancers etc. Would recommend it during the day early so you avoid the queues to get in, and later at night it gets horrible messy and the atmosphere goes through the floor. You'll encounter plenty of Irish riff raff as it's the spot for all that sort of thing but there isn't (usually) too much trouble.

Other than that, the likes of the Moon and Sixpence on Murray Street is quite good as well as the Elephant and Wheelbarrow in Northbridge (or Cougar Town as its come to be known).

A little further out, JB O'Reilly's in West Leederville does award winning Guinness and is very busy, good atmosphere too. Fibber McGee's in Leederville is too pokey to be decent.

If you head to Freo there's only really their version of Rosie's and it's not worth the trek imo. The Mighty Quinn in Wanneroo is popular too but I've never been there. Good option for the night is Paddy Hannon's in the casino, usually have a good band in and it's open late.

I live north in Joondalup and there's about four pubs that will be going all out so I'll be doing a mini-crawl in the evening. The Sovereign Arms, The Old Bailey and Paddy Malone's will all be buzzing.

My day will start at 12 and go as follows -

    - Rosie O'Grady's til about 4
    - Leederville til about 7
    - Joondalup pub crawl til closing (midnight)
    - Nightclub in Joondalup til about 4 in the morning

    Solid

Go to the beach. Actually don't go to the beach, still cringing after seeing a couple of Irish guys stagger into the waves last weekend.

The Mighty Quinn is on Wanneroo Road in Tuart Hill. Last time I went there on Paddy day it was full of old Irish grannies.
