Is an agency pulling fast one on us?

    Hey!
    Theres a bunch of people working via agency in a certain company. They all work 19 hours per week of which 7,5h is on fridays and 11,5h is on saturdays.
    Wages are being paid every friday for previous week.
    Question is about st.Patricks day. As it is saturday we would by our work scedule supposed to work. We are given a day off. No pay for that day, but we do get bank holiday payment for monday (on which normally we would not work).
    So basically they pay monday INSTEAD saturday.

    The question is, are they pulling a fast one on us?

    Saturday pay for 11,5h is normally around 115 euros, while bank holiday payment for monday is just 97 euros.

    Not to mention that it will be paid week later than saturday would have been paid.

    Are they legally in the right place or are they being wrong there by not paying what we would have earned on working saturday as normal?

    Any help in this matter is appriciated. Thanks!

    they have to pay you 1 fith of your working week
    so 19/5 x hourley rate if the monday is the public holiday

    or the normal rate for the day in question if the saturday is the holiday

    as per here
    Part-time employees

    If you have worked for your employer at least 40 hours in the 5 weeks before the public holiday and the public holiday falls on a day you normally work you are entitled to a day's pay for the public holiday. If you are required to work that day you are entitled to an additional day's pay.

    If you do not normally work on that particular day you should receive one-fifth of your weekly pay. Even if you may never be rostered to work on a public holiday you are entitled to one-fifth of your weekly pay as compensation for the public holiday.

    In all of the above situations your employer may choose to give you paid time off instead of pay for the public holiday.

    This year the public holiday of St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Saturday 17th March 2012. Monday 19th March 2012 is a not a public holiday.

    Full-time workers have immediate entitlement to benefit for public holidays and part-time workers have entitlement to benefit when they have worked 40 hours in the previous 5 weeks
