Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dog socialisation in Cork help!

I have a collie cross for the last year and a half and love her to bits. She is brilliant with people but when we meet other dogs while out walking she goes mental. She was attacked as a pup by her brother and was rehomed to me through a charity, I assume they thought he was the vicious one. Now she tries to get them before they get her, I know shes terrified but it just looks like shes vicious and its stressful for all involved (especially when we meet guide dogs). Ive tried a few methods to try and train her out of acting like she is trying to kill every dog we meet and am sticking with our current method, we are making good progress but it is a slow process. I cant afford to take her to a behavioural specialist at the moment as I'm doing a masters and am very, very broke. Things will be tight for a while.

So if there is anyone out there, living in the city centre in Cork who has a friendly, calm dog and would be willing to meet us and go walking I would really, really appreciate it. She is fine with dogs when they are both off the leash and they can run around but I wouldn't risk it with a small dog, just in case so preferably a medium to large sized dog. She has never actually hurt another dog, she has been around puppies and is great friends with a Bichon and Bichon/yorkie cross but we don't get to meet them often enough as they don't live in Cork.

I usually take her to that field in front of the university as she can run around loads and there are no cars that she can see for her to run after.

Hope theres someone who can help us! Thanks.
