Dog growling at other dogs

Hi all, just looking for advice, I have a two year old springer/cocker spaniel. We got her at 10 weeks and from the start made sure she was socialised with other dogs and people. In the last few weeks she has started growling and snarling at nearly every dog we meet ! Now if we meet a dog I have to say NO, and she wont snarl or growl at them, or go for them without making any noise so I wont know what she is doing :) I walk her at least three times a day, 2 short and one long walk, always were there are other people/dogs.. Where we walk I can leave her off the lead (in local green area) but yesterday she spotted two kids and ran over barking at them. This never happened before, and now means I have to have her on the lead whenever we are out. Considering she is dreadful on the lead this will be a nightmare. She is otherwise a happy dog very loyal to us and in good health. I have done a lot of basic training with her and put a huge amount of effort into making sure she is a trained/therefore happy dog. As I said this started a few weeks ago, for no reason that I can think of and is getting worse. Any advice on how to deal with this growing problem would be greatfully appreciated.
