Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just wondering are there any decent pubs to visit in Ballinasloe, and what would you guys recommend this weekend?

Looking for a few names of places, maybe somewhere quiet but with young (ish) crowd, good places to go before the nightclubs and somewhere to possibly stay as a late bar. Going with a few mates, and not looking for any hassle so bear that in mind aswell.

Also what is name of the nightclub(s) in the town?

Cheers for any advice in advance

plenty of pubs to choose from, places like Gibbons (the pillar house) and downey's all have younger (early 20's) crowd in it but they are a little small so its harder to get away form the noise if your trying.

The usual/blakes/maud millars is probably the closest to what your looking for. sometimes a bit of live music at the back of all but the front area is generally ok, although again it does be packed.

Two nightclubs, the east and the planet but im not sure if the planet is open all the time these days. I'd recommend the east

Mauds and Blakes are always lively great music with big crowds at the weekend and the east nightclub is at the back of Blakes.
An Tain was decent for a while had three bars with disco bar upstairs.
Downeys have great drink promotions and always big crowd there.

Gibbons and the usual are just dumps.

Downeys usually live music and a dj afterwards on Sundays..fairly lively during Summer months but can get messy but generally good craic on a Sunday evening in there

Thanks for reply. Would it be a young enough crowd? I'm playing there in a four piece on the 20th of April. Just want to know if we can rock it up or should we keep fairly restrained!!!

    Cheers

Generally, the older crowd stay to the front of the bar and the younger are at the back. In not too sure what crowd there would be for a normal Friday night.
