    Hey

Im looking to buy a top of the range PC or Laptop for gaming. Id prefer a laptop although i know i wont get the power of a desktop out of one. Do you guys know a decent place online to shop for one, not dell, i think alienware is a rip off, great machines, just overly priced once you add all the components into it.

    Any advice would be great.

    Cheers

Unless you build it yourself, you're pretty much always going to be ripped off when buying a gaming machine. It's actually pretty easy to build a machine, the lads and ladies on the PC Building and Upgrading forum would be well able to help. You'll build a very impressive machine for €800 - less than €1000 if you need to include monitor, mouse, keyboard etc.

If you are going to go for a desktop then putting it together yourself is the best option, infact a lot of sites even offer that service for just a couple of euro extra.

If you want a gaming laptop then I'd recommend this crowd http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/. I bought a clevo p150hm from them and its brillant. They are custom made so might take up to a month to get it but its worth it.

Should note though that a comparable desktop to a gaming laptop would be about a 500-600 euro cheaper (maybe even more...). Plus they are more 'desktop replacements' then laptops, the battery life would never get past 2 hours and thats just from normal use nevermind gaming. So unless you really need it to be a laptop (space restrictions/traveling) then I would go for the desktop any day of the week.
