    Hi,
A friend and I started a project to build a plane.
We are using foam WOT4 as sample and plane to make a fiberglass replica. We have no clue if it will fly but find it interesting to try the build, then we'll see about the flying.
Anyways just wondering how to determine engine size (it will be heavier than foam plane so will need a bigger motor) - how do i determine size of motor.
Same question with servos etc... I have seem very small servos and bigger ones: is there a method to select the appropriate ones based on plane dims and weight?

    thanks in advance

    50 watts/kg for glider
100 watts/kg for take off ground
200 watts/kg for low wing aerobatic, faster flight, average EDF
300 watts/kg for vertical with accelleration, performance EDF
350-450 watts/kg for public display, do anything, prop hanging
