    Alright lads,

I was refused the IEC visa because the 18month rule..is there an alternative to the IEC visa? I pretty much have a job offer, although nothing in writing.. is there an alternative visa I can apply for that doesn't have this 18month rule apply to it?

Your company could get an LMO Labour Market opinion for your job
You can use the LMO to apply for a TWP visa
It does mean you can only work for that employer though

Out of interest how can they know you were out of the country for 18 months?

Passport stamps, work history, past addresses...

you need to give adetailed list of where youve lived & worked over the past x amount of time
