    Hey guys,

Is it possible to still claim rent relief or a tax credit for rent??

If so is it as simple as filling out the relevant forms and sending to revenue etc.

    Thanks a bunch

Still able to claim for it.

    Easiest way to do so.

My understanding is that you can only claim it if you were eligible to claim it from December 2010 or earlier. So, if you've only started renting since then, you won't be able to claim it.

If you've been eligible since December 2010 or earlier, then even if you hadn't been claiming it til now, you can still claim as far as four years back.

As above, the easiest way to claim is using PAYE Anytime, but alternatively there's a form you can download from the Citizens Information website here.

When filling in the paye anytime online form, it is only necessary to enter the landlords name and address. Is it necessary for the landlord to be involved / be aware that you are going to claim tax credits for rent?
