I already have windows, monitor, KB/M, and a DVD drive.

    i5-2500k = 189€
    Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3, Intel Z68, ATX motherboards=84€
    Hyper 212 cooler = 27€
    8gb corsair vengeance = 52€
    Seagate Barracuda 7200 1000GB, SATA 6Gb/s = 89€
Antec Three Hundred, ATX case = 51€
    Corsair Enthusiast 750W = 93€
    HIS HD7950 = 410€
    Shipping = 20€ (hardwareversand)
    Total = 1015€

Is everything compatible? I am buying the 750W PSU so I can add a second 7950 and an SSD in the future. Are all the other parts compatible with this?

go with the Samsung F3 HDDs instead, its a tenner more but an extra years warranty, and also faster.

the Macho cooler is getting recommended allot more around here now. the 212 is also very difficult to install.

the XFX pro core 850W psu is the same price and also a decent unit. more power than you seem to need but I thought I'd put it out there.

While that motherboard supports crossfire, it only does x16/x4, so your second card would run slower. The Antec 300 is a terrible case, and putting 2 large cards in it would make it even worse. You'd be better off going with something like this:

    Item|Price
    Intel Core i5-2500K Box, LGA1155|€188.78
    ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3, Sockel 1155, ATX|€113.60
    8GB-Kit G.Skill PC3-10667U CL9|€33.31
    Seagate Barracuda 7200 1000GB, SATA 6Gb/s|€89.00
    Thermalright True Spirit 120|€22.93
    MSI R7950-2PMD3GD5/OC, 3072MB DDR5, PCI-Express|€407.62
XFX PRO650W Core Edition Full Wired Power Supply|€72.92
Corsair Carbide Series 400R, ATX, ohne Netzteil|€85.99
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€1.033.14

The 7200rpm F3 is out of stock, and has been for a couple of weeks now :(

Do you think 650W is enough for the extra 7950 and the SSD? Also 85 for a case, is that necessary?

yea 650 is enough for 7950CF. and an SSD uses like 2W :D

if you want decent temps, which you do, 85 is nothing to be spent on a case.

650W is grand for that system. The 7950s are about 150W per card under gaming load, the i5-2500k is ~100W when overclocked. The rest of the system will account for less than 100W, so under 500W in total.

If you want to have two 7950s you want to have a decent case, or the cards will get very hot. Once you get the second card and install it you'll see what I mean, and thank me for it.

Here's an example of each case with 2 GPUs in it:

    ^^Ah right tyvm.

By the way, I don't know if either of you have experience ordering from hardwareversand, but I was just going through the ordering procedure, entered my address, and it seems to have finalised the order without prompting me for credit card details. My German isn't great, and the english translation on the site isn't great either, so how exactly do I pay?

Edit: Just got an email from them. Their payment method seems a little wierd, but I'm presuming they're fine given the amount of people on boards that seemingly use them

You pay by bank transfer, they'll send you an email with the details. Its pretty easy if you have online banking, just follow this guide:

If you're going for the 400r, might as well spend a tenner extra for the 500r, removable HDD cages, fan controller, extra 200mm fan, and most importantly it's white :pac:

+1 on 500R, i got it myself and this case is just pure sex with beans. ( i am a dirty bastard )

corsair psu 750 is great too, funny enough i got it myself :p. 750 is a golden spot. enough room for any single GPU and enough room for any modern CF sli setup.

I would not put OCd 7970s in crossfire on a 750w. They pull horrible numbers with high volt overclocks. Same with 580s.
